Networking XP proHi, I have a wireless laptop and a desktop tied to a wired/wireless D-Link
router. The laptop, i just put XP pro on it. But for some reason, the desktop can see and access all files on laptop. Thelaptop can see the desktop on network, but when you go to access files on desktop, it will prompt you for a password. How do i turn this off. I want to use the printer that is tied to the desktop, but can't. Thanks Paul. On Wed, 6 Dec 2006 19:01:24 -0800, Paul <P***@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote:

Are you running Simple or Advanced File Sharing on each computer? <http://nitecruzr.blogspot.com/2005/06/file-sharing-under-windows-xp.html#Help> http://nitecruzr.blogspot.com/2005/06/file-sharing-under-windows-xp.html#Help -- Cheers, Chuck, MS-MVP [Windows - Networking] http://nitecruzr.blogspot.com/ Paranoia is not a problem, when it's a normal response from experience.
