Unable to ping anyone, able to ping 127.0.0.1, able to browse

Hi guys,
Please help me with this absolutely frustrating problem. I am able to
connect to internet throught the wireless router and i am able to ping
my self i.e 127.0.0.1, but I am unable to ping anyone else connected to
the router, and they are not able to ping me. I turned of the windows
firewall service and symantec services, still doesnt work. By the way I
have windows xp sp2 ver 2002. Please help me poeple.

Some wireless routers have a configuration setting so wireless clients can
not access other wireless clients for security reasons. My Buffalo WBR-G54
can do that. Is that the case with your wireless router whatever make and
model it may be?
