I had to start services "remote access manager" and "routing and remote
access". Sorry for the translation. The problem I have occurs with a french
XP.

I could the configure a new VPN network connection.

But now I get the "Unavailable - Device missing" error.

In the device manager, I have the miniport WAN (IP, IP packet sequencing,
L2TP, PPTP and PPPOE) installed, actived and running.

(I do not need PPPOE, my network is on ethernet cable, but I cannot remove
PPPOE).

How to setup my VPN connection without reformatting the full hard disk, or
changing for a new PC?

Thanks.

Francois.

it seems to me one of miniport WAN missing. Are you sure all miniport installed? Or re-install Uninstall/reinstall the TCP/IP protocol.

There is a problem with step 1b.

The Uninstall button is greyed when the TCP/IP protocol is selected. I have
no way to remove it.

Thanks.

NB reverted to plain text.

seems that the step listed come from Q810979. That applies to windows 2000,
not XP.

Thanks.
