Can't connect to XP WorkstationI have an XP Workstation installed on my network. I can connect to the
network fine from that workstation. However, when I try to connect TO that workstation, even to do something as simple as a ping, it fails. When i first started using this machine, everything worked fine...it just decided one day to start refusing incoming requests of any kind. Oddly enough, I can still see the machine on the network. I just can't talk to it. I have tried all the knowledge base articles that refer to the firewall, even to the point of turning the firewall off to see if that's the issue, and it isn't. Even with no firewall, I can't ping the machine. Can anyone point me in the right direction here? Geoffrey Callaghan Do you have other security software like Norton security? Can the computer ping itself?
