Disconnected network drivesI've had something strange happen a few days ago with two computers in our
domain. The mapped network drives would appear as "Disconnected", and if I went into the Computer Name in System Properties, the full computer name appeared as just the user ID (not User ID.domain), the "Network ID" and "Change..." buttons were grayed out, and it said at the bottom that "Networking is not installed or is not properly configured." If I went into Services, I would restart the "RPC Locator" and this would resolve the issues, but only for a few minutes. I checked to see if there was an issue with "Client for MS Networks" not being installed, but that was installed and working. Any idea of what could be happening? Thanks. I've just had the same thing happen. 2 computers (one laptop with wireless
connection, the other a desktop with ethernet) report the same error, but have connectivity to internet and Outlook (Exchange 2003 on SBS 2003). When I removed the Automatic assignment of network info and put in the IP/Subnet, etc, I regained my connection to the network as administrator, but immediately lost it again when logging back in as the employee (who had administrator level access to the PC, but is just a regular Domain member). Hello,
We are seeing some similar issues. We are getting the following: "Networking is not installed or is not properly configured" it looks like a large number of services are also crashing. We are running Symantec AV... Thanks, Paul Show quoteHide quote "ASchaum" wrote: > I've just had the same thing happen. 2 computers (one laptop with wireless > connection, the other a desktop with ethernet) report the same error, but > have connectivity to internet and Outlook (Exchange 2003 on SBS 2003). handful of machines. We're also runing SAV Corporate. PT Show quoteHide quote "Sully" wrote: > Did anyone ever resolve this.
