Unable to access internetI have multiple computers on a home network and only one of them is unable
to access the internet. The DHCP server assigns a proper address to the network device but every time I enter a web address, it goes to 192.168.0.1 and then errors out. I have reset the HOSTS file to an empty file thinking that was the problem but still have the same problem. Any ideas what I can try next?? thanks in advance Since it goes to 192.168.0.1, I would check the IE LAN settings. Too do that, open IE>Tools>Internet Options>Connections>LAN Settings. Make sure Proxy server is unchecked.

Proxy server unchecked. IP connections within home network, but only with static IP address, not beyone router to internet (only 1 computer can't access internet, others can though the server). If I set the 1 computer to obtain address automatically, "limited or no connectivity message." Had a service call from the broadband company today. Everything from the router out is OK. He couldn't figure it out. If the cables and NICs are okay, other computers connect through the router, doesn't it have to be in the software? Might it help to uninstall TCP/IP and IPV6 and reinstall them? What else can I try?
