Direct NetworkingHi all, I am a newby to networking, I was wondering if anyone can point me to
a 'how to' to connect 2 Pc's (both on WINXP) with either a usb or ethernet cable to work as ONE 'virtual pc' , i.e one working as a 'slave' to the other 'master' pc, thus sharing processor, memory , the works? is this possible? if so how...? That isn't usually what people mean by networking. yeah thanx, i have picked up a load of knowledge since my post, lix dyban
does a 'cluster' for multimedia applications, also pvm's etc, very cool. past the site you mentioned, and there it is only described for linux and RedHat, as you pointed out. But I kept on searching, and it appears there has been a book on the subject of beowulfing, which has been published in two versions, one for linux, AND one for windows. So I guess it's not impossible to make from different windows pc's one virtual faster pc. If anyone would know how to do beowulf with windows, please post it, it would be a real help to me. but when they log off and try to log back on their connection is no longer there. I am new to Desktop Support and can't find the problem, can someone direct me? (It's also a lot easier / better if you use a news client, not the web interface to the newsgroups). That said, you should be using login scripts to map your users' network drives. That's the short answer. Without knowing more information about your network, it's impossible to say.
