Network and home web serverI have a home pc running Windows XP home and I have until recently been using a US Robotics router to create a home network. Basically I have the main pc wired into the router and the subsequent computers connecting wirelessly. I then had the bright idea of setting up my own web server using DynDNS and Apache. This has knocked out all connectivity through the router. I have now removed DynDNS and Apache but still cannot connect throuigh the router. I have also tried another router and the same problems seems to occur (which leads me to this being a Windows XP networking issue rather than a hardware one). As a note I can connect to the web when I plug the cable from my modem directly into the NIC buit if I go through the ruter it will not connect. Can anyone help with this issue or perhaps point me in the right direction to getting this solved. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks Mark Hi
Do you have LAN connections between the computers when they are connected to the Router's Switch? If you do it is probably Authentication problem. I.e the Router lost the capacity to log to the ISP, probably need MAC cloning, http://www.ezlan.net/broadband.html Jack (MVP-Networking).
