Conflict between printer and internet conectionI have a Brother MFC-425CN connected via cable to a WebExcel wireless
router/modem. I have a desktop PC with XP Pro connected to the router via cable and a laptop with XP Home connected via wireless. The printer and ADSL internet connections work OK from both computers if used seperately, but if the printer is switched on I cannot access the internet from the laptop via the wireless connection. I have been unable to resolve the problem with the network diagnotic tool, and have been unable to find any reference to such a conflct in the KB articles. Can anyone help? This sounds very much like a firmware bug in the router. Sugest you check the
manufacturer's site for firmware updates. Note: make sure it's the right firmware for the model, or you could trash your router. Thanks for the advice Ian. The Web Excel PT-3830 is supposed to have an
automatic firmware update feature, but I have been unable to locate a site that has firmware updates for this modem. I did, however, find some discussion forums that revealed others also could not find a firmware update site! If anyone does find such a site could you please let me know.
