Direct Connection with Crossover cableHello,
Am currently having an issue with a direct connection I'm trying to achieve- I'm using -an RJ45 crossover cable -2 laptops with XP SP2 I've manually configured laptop 1's IP as 192.168.0.1 and 2's to be 192.168.0.2. Subnet masks are 255.255.255.0. Firewalls are turned off. One laptop can happily ping the other, but not the other way around! Am attempting to set up a long-awaited 2 player game of Civ 3 but to no avail. Any help greatly appreciated! Kind regards, In news:12CFF544-726E-4994-815C-40B5AE598143@microsoft.com, glidingpiper <glidingpi***@discussions.microsoft.com> typed:Show quoteHide quote > Hello, I'm presuming you're trying to ping by IP address.
