Add a router to existing network setup

I use a Netopia ADSL modem/router and have a good connection to the internet.
The Netopia modem does not have wireless capability so I bought a Netgear
wireless router to make a wireless network. When I set up the Netgear between
my computer and the Netopia modem I cannot connect to the internet (not
wireless or through the Ethernet ports on the Netgear) but I can still
connect fine if I use the Ethernet ports on the Netopia modem.

What do I have to do to be able to connect through the Netgear?

Make sure that the Netopia ADSL modem/router uses a different LAN
subnet than the Netgear wireless router. For example, If Netopia uses
192.168.0.x, configure Netgear to use 192.168.1.x.
