Remote Desktop fails with the error:
VBScript: Remote Desktop Disconnected
An internal error has occured.
This only happens when I access the internet through my wireless router with
both Windows XP and 2000.

I also get an warning occasionally that there is an IP address conflict on
the system . . perhaps this is part of the problem?

Hi

It seems that the Router is not configured correctly.

You have to look over the IP scheme whether it is Static, DHCP, or
combination of both.

The ports that are used by Remote Desktop have to be open thought the Router's
NAT Firewall.  If few computers are using Remote Desktop, each one has to be
configured with different port.

If you use RWW, make sure the port 4125 and 80 are open; if you use TS/RDC, make sure the port 80 is open. This search result may help too.

IP address coflict error means
in your network (locally) you have same ip address configured for 2 pcs, or
2 network cards on same pc with same ips.
IP address should be unique on each node in network else it might create
issues in connectivity.
