unable to connect using WPAI replaced my Linksys WRT54G wireless router with a Linksys WRT54G2 wireless
router. I have 2 laptops, both running Win XP Pro SP3, and both worked fine with the old router using WPA. I have the new router set for WPA Personal TKIP. Laptop 1 has a networking utility that allows it to connect just fine, but I cannot see the settings to use for Laptop 2. I'm trying to use Windows to connect on Laptop 2. Windows detects every network in the neighborhood including mine, and will connect just fine with router security disabled, but not with WPA security enabled. On the association tab I have network authentication set to WPA-PSK, and data encryption set for TKIP. I supplied and confirmed the correct network key. I would like to keep the new router because the signal strength seems to be much better. Any suggestions?

So, my advice is to try not just once but many times to enter what seems to be the identical key. My own record for the least number of tries before success is three. Jim Hi
Make that the Wireless 802.1x advanced security is Not checked. Make sure the the Original Wireless card's utility is Not loaded and active when you use Windows native WZC.
