Configuration steps for remote desktop via verizon fiosI need to access my computer which is connected to the standard issue Verizon
FIOS router. While I am on the Network locally I can remote desktop to the this system running Windows XP. From a remote location I cannot connect. Previously I was able to do this with my Optimum Online service without making any further configuration steps. I used the following syntax http://ISP_Assigned_IP_Address:port_number/tsweb/ Any suggestions? Are you forwarding the proper ports in the router to the PC your trying to
connect to? -- Show quoteHide quoteCrosspost, do not multipost http://www.blakjak.demon.co.uk/mul_crss.htm How to ask a question http://support.microsoft.com/kb/555375 Help Us Help You http://dts-l.net/goodpost.htm "Ras Negus" <Ras Ne***@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:DDAA4007-29F2-4DCD-9176-22FC959A130E@microsoft.com... >I need to access my computer which is connected to the standard issue >Verizon > FIOS router. If your trying to use the web based Remote Desktop Connection then you need
both TCP Port 80 [IIS] and TCP Port 3389 [RDC] open on the router. Note some ISPs block TCP Port 80 for residential accounts. FWIW, my brother has Verizon FIOS in Florida and Verizon blocks TCP Port 80 there. You can test this by going to the http://www.canyouseeme.org site from the RDC host PC.
