PC Can't See Others on network, but can ping them by IP.I have 3 PC's on my network.
Two running XP Pro and a Laptop running Vista. One XP Machine and the Laptop are wireless to the router. The Other XP Machine is wired to the router. All 3 Machines can access the internet with no issues. The Vista Machine and the wired XP machine can communicate just fine. They can see the Wireless XP Machine but can't access it. "Windows Cannot Access \\Machine 3" The Wireless Machine can see the router but not the other two PC's. It can ping them via IP Address, but not by name. I have been beating my head against the keyboard, the monitor, the wall... and can't get the damn thing to play nice and talk to the other PC's. 1. Make sure all computer have been enabled NetBIOS over TCP/IP.
2. Make sure you have assigned permissions in Security tab. -- Show quoteHide quoteBob Lin, MS-MVP, MCSE & CNE Networking, Internet, Routing, VPN Troubleshooting on http://www.ChicagoTech.net How to Setup Windows, Network, VPN & Remote Access on http://www.HowToNetworking.com "efritsch" <efrit***@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:38DC4806-9C47-4F8D-988B-1F5AD56135EA@microsoft.com... >I have 3 PC's on my network. > > Two running XP Pro and a Laptop running Vista.
