Hotfix 955535 causes synchronization of CSC offline files to fail to terminatehotfix from KB 955535 as I had been experiencing repeated timeouts while synchronizing an offline cached network drive and wondered if this might help. The drive is a Freecom DataTank Gateway configured in RAID mirror mode. The hotfix has largely cured sync timeouts following a period of offline working (in which the drive would drop offline during the sync, forcing me to make several attempts to complete the sync). However, the sync process now sticks at the stage "synchronization succeeded". The sync dialog can be minimized and remains animated in the tray. The drive does become available online at this point and can be used normally. This state of affairs seems to remain for several hours. The dialog's "stop" button is only partially if at all functional at this stage. I did look into killing the mobsync.exe task. It refused to die even though taskkill /f claimed that it had been sucessfully terminated. Following this attempt, CTRL-ALT-DELETE and the Windows key became unresponsive and a shutdown was only possible by holding down the power button, yet in all other respects the system worked normally! Thanks for any suggestions or comments. Regards Alan Hart n.b. if following up by email, please substitute the part before the "@" with "temp.2006". System details below (abbreviated): OS Name Microsoft Windows XP Professional Version 5.1.2600 Service Pack 3 Build 2600 System Manufacturer TOSHIBA System Model Tecra A9 System Type X86-based PC Processor x86 Family 6 Model 15 Stepping 13 GenuineIntel ~1795 Mhz BIOS Version/Date TOSHIBA Version 2.10, 06/03/2008 SMBIOS Version 2.4 Hardware Abstraction Layer Version = "5.1.2600.5512 (xpsp.080413-2111)" Total Physical Memory 2,048.00 MB Available Physical Memory 1.10 GB Total Virtual Memory 2.00 GB Available Virtual Memory 1.96 GB Page File Space 3.84 GB PS I should add that the DataTank Gateway is a non-Intel based SMB
server running a rather light version of Linux. Alan Hart wrote: Show quoteHide quote > I am using WinXP Pro on a dual core laptop.
