That worked perfectly. I can now reach into the laptop from the Mac. I'd like to put that commend in my XP startup sequence. I'm not entirely comfortable in the command line but I have a neighbor who will help ... but where would be the best place to put this command?? Instead, configure the Server service to start automatically when Windows starts: 1. Click Start > Run. 2. Type "services.msc" in the box and click OK. 3. Scroll down the list of services and click "Server". 4. Set the Startup type to Automatic. 5. If the service status is Stopped, click Start. 6. Click OK. -- Best Wishes, Steve Winograd, MS-MVP (Windows Desktop Experience) Please post any reply as a follow-up message in the news group for everyone to see.
