Renewing IP Address / Flushing ARP CacheHi,
I have a desktop that used to be connected to a Netgear Wireless Router. I no longer have the router connected to the desktop and tried to set-up a modem this weekend but am having problems. I have tried to release and renew my ip address. It won't release or renew. I have tried to repair the issue but I get repair failed: Renewing IP address and Flushing ARP Cache. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Hi
There is a difference in the way the setting is done via a Router than the way it is done directly to the Modem. There might be an Authentication problem (ID/PW/MAC address), or and, special IP settings are needed to establish Internet connection rather than a LAN connection. When connecting directly to a Modem the ISP should help, call them and ask for advice.
