Might save the head-banging if all you need is straightforward access.

Domain login problems are often complex issues, but DNS faults are the usual
area. If an NSLOOKUP for the domain controller fails, that is your problem.

1. The Domain Controller must have the DNS service running.
2. It must have the special zone entries for the Active Directory.
3. Clients must use this server as their primary DNS source.
