The wireless may not get IP from DHCP. Does ipconfig /all shows 169.254.x.x
IP? Or this link may help.
Troubleshooting limited or no connectivity
"This connection has limited or no connectivity. " ... check this
page, Sent packets only on a wireless computer and Limited or no connection

Yep.. ipconfig shows autoconfiguration 169.254.121.242

do i need to update the network adopter .. or the wireless adopter..  since
i  used vista to configure.. the wireless router?? or  should i reformat the
xp and re install a fresh copy so all previous configuration wipes out and
then re-configure wireless router through xp?
