Home Network and Workgroup stopped woking again

I've successfully set up a Windows XP Workgroup in my house, through a
router, one plugged in and the other wirelessly. It worked for years, then I
beleive I got a Windows update and it prevented my computers from seeing each
other from that point on... I disabled Windows Firewall on both computers,
reran the Home Network Setup and it started working again. But now, for some
reason it stopped woring again!?! Both Windows Firewall are disabled. I've
been running Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0.3.387 for Workstation on both machines
since ever and it worked fine. What should I be checking for? What is
preventing my computers from seeing each other, again? Both access internet
fine...

Any help would be appreciated

Kaspersky Anti-Virus could be the problem. Try clean boot for
troubleshooting.
