Looking for methods to improve network browing over VPN .    Currently the
browsing is bad.   'My computer'  takes up to a minute to load and often
crashes.   When a network drive does come up in explorer it has no contents
in the file/directory list.     We have a WINS server at our office site, it
doesnt show up in ipconfig when I am out of office.  Our IT guy says it is a
problem with the providers VPN config.   - everything works beautifully when
Im attached directly to our LAN.   Anybody have any suggestions?

Your IT guys need to add the WINS to the VPN server to assign it to the VPN
client. Do you have Windows VPN or Cisco VPN?

It is a Juniper VPN and it is managed by our local ISP.  My IT guy tells me
they need to the IP address of our local WINS server to the Juniper VPN.
does that sound correct?

To keep it simple, you may add the WINS to the VPN client yourself if you
know the the WINS IP. This how to may help.
