Problem with wireless network/card??

Tonight for a unrelated issue I ran chkdsk /r  to check how long the
procedure took to complete.

Well after that I am having MAJOR problems with my wireless network/card.  I
connect to the network and everything is fine for about 30 seconds, then the
lap top disconnects from the network (I get a Limited or no connectivity
error message).  I am able to disconnect and refresh network and reconnect
and iot works for 30 seconds.  etc etc etc

I'm on a Dell D820 running WinXP Pro.  Prior to running the chkdsk/r I was
having no issues with my network.  I have lost connections twice while tyoing
this post.

Reinstall the drivers for the wireless adapter. They will be on a CD that
came with your Dell computer if the adapter came installed with the system
or you can get them from Dell's website. If this is a separate adapter that
you purchased/installed yourself, get the drivers from the CD that came
with it or the adapter mftr.'s website.

After posting that note I did re-install all the drivers associated with the
card.  I also powered down the modem and router.  Nothing worked last night
and the situation was not any better this morning.  What I should have done
(which I did do while conversing with Dell technicians this morning) was
power down the range extender.  After doing that everything started working
properly, although I don't understand why because we had no outages,
lightening, or surges last night.  Perhaps one of the files that associated
the range extender was corrupt and the chkdsk either deleted it, moved it or
there was some conflict.  Anyway all is well.  Thanks for the suggestion
though.

Glad you got it sorted. Thanks for updating the thread with your solution.
