Using win-XP Pro on both computers, after networking was able to find shared
folders but not c:drive.  Have netwporked ny desktop and laptop in the past.
Had problems with my desktop and got a new one using same OS. Any help will
be appreciated.

I assume that you've gone to the properties of each computer's C:
drive and enabled sharing.

What share name did you specify?  If the name ends with "$", it's a
hidden share, and it won't appear in My Network Places.  You can
connect to a hidden share by mapping it as a network drive.
