connect laptop and desktop

I am trying to set up my home network with a desktop and laptop.  Both
computers are running XP Home Edition.
The desktop is connected via Ethernet cable to a Netgear wireless router and
the laptop connects wireless to the router.

So my questions is: How could I set up network to share the files and print,
base on the fact that I used laptop most time.

Run the Network Setup Wizard (in Start > All Programs > Accessories >
Communications) on each computer.  Tell the Wizard that the computer
connects to the Internet through a residential gateway (your router).

Configure any firewall program (Norton, McAfee, ZoneAlarm, etc) to
allow file and printer sharing on the local area network.

Adding on Steve advise, infact you can also enable sharing under files and
printer, just by choosing sharing and ensuring sharing option is checked but
then of cos say if you have third party firewall like Zone alarm and stuff,
you need to configure it or have it uninstall
