FTP is a bit basic in XPHello, I am using WinXP MCE '04, thet's pretty up to date ftp wise. I am
using SmartFTP and thought hang on FTP is built into XP, so I found this article: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/web/expert/bowman_02march18.mspx It's good, it works, however all it does it let me see the files and to edit them I have to copy them to my HDD, why? All I need it to see the files and edit them right on the server through an FTP, thats basic right. So why does XP not let me do that? I would like to know if FTP is going to be better in Vista and if it'll have the option to auto back-up to a seperate folder. Thanks, Samuel, UK

Jim Yea well I think the FTP bit in Windows should allow for editing, or change
its name. I typed in telnet into run and it came up in dos, no thanks! I basically want to see the read/write/backup simple features of SmartFTP in Windows, that would be good and I ask again if anyone knows if it will be in Vista?
