Set up a home workgroup with router

Hi,

Sorry for I am not familiar with workgroup.

A friend is asking help for setting up a home workgroup environment using a
router for common tasks, such as sharing printer, Internet connection (via
router), and so on.

I am still checking but assume the OSes are Pro edition.

Could anyone provide a source where we could find step-by-step instructions
to set up a workgroup environment with a router?

Many thanks in advance.

Connect all of the computers to the router.  For wired connections,
use the router's LAN ports.  For wireless connections, refer to the
router's User Guide for instructions.

Run the Network Setup Wizard on each computer by clicking Start | All
Programs | Accessories | Communications | Network Setup Wizard.

If the Wizard detects the router's shared Internet connection, tell it
to use that connection.  Otherwise, tell it that the computer connects
to the Internet through a residential gateway.  The Wizard will make
all the necessary settings for Internet access, file sharing, and
printer sharing.
