Set up a home workgroup with routerHi,
Sorry for I am not familiar with workgroup. A friend is asking help for setting up a home workgroup environment using a router for common tasks, such as sharing printer, Internet connection (via router), and so on. I am still checking but assume the OSes are Pro edition. Could anyone provide a source where we could find step-by-step instructions to set up a workgroup environment with a router? Many thanks in advance. xfile wrote:

For wireless connections, refer to the router's User Guide for instructions. Run the Network Setup Wizard on each computer by clicking Start | All Programs | Accessories | Communications | Network Setup Wizard. If the Wizard detects the router's shared Internet connection, tell it to use that connection. Otherwise, tell it that the computer connects to the Internet through a residential gateway. The Wizard will make all the necessary settings for Internet access, file sharing, and printer sharing. -- Best Wishes, Steve Winograd, MS-MVP (Windows Networking) Please post any reply as a follow-up message in the news group for everyone to see.
