Q: Does windows Registry have a series of user profiles backup used
--even if I'm the only user? I must reboot about 2-4 times to run WinXP
Pro+SP2 right, so as to not display a dialog reading: (in effect)
....Windows can not start the firewall, because ICS has not started. Do
you want to start it?

What I've done:

Hi Kelley:

I reanalyzed my problem and found:

When I boot up, I get a message reading to the effect of:
1. Windows could not start the Windows Internet Connection Sharing
Service/Firewall. Do You want to start the service now? [Yes] [No]
I click No
2. Or I access Control Panel-> Windows Firewall and get the above
warning. 3. Due t some [blah...] Windows can not access the Windows
Firewall. 4. Sometimes I get the Taskbar turn to Windows Classic form.
5. I reran SP2 Install setup and that didn't help.

REQUEST: HELP To REMOVE ICS... NO REMOVE ICS in ADVANCED Tab on Network
Profile Sttings.

Thanks, Donald.

FYI: WinXP Pro SP1a patched to SP2a Current.
AV: AVAST, AIM IM, Ewido Security Suite, K9 Spam Mail Cleaner.
RAM: 1GB
Why this all started: I installed Spyware Blaster Spyware Remover (on
www.pricelessware.org list: See: alt.comp.freeware Newsgroup for more
info.)

I removed Spware Blaster and then got DNS Connect Errors. So I went to
Control Panel-> Add Windows Components, removed and reinstalled Network
Components.

Tried my BellSouth  FastAcess ISP Setup Disk...NO way it worked, it only
rebooted my machine.I ran the setup manually from the CD to install some
files

I researched removing ICS on Microsoft.com and WinXP Help&Support, but
it was for Win98, NOT XP.

I use a Westell 2100 Dual Port Ethernet DSL Modem. My old HP1207D-TX NIC
starts very slow--taking about 3 minutes to fully boot my CUSTOM-MADE
BOX.

Any more info, Ask.

Thanks, Donald Bock
