Accessing ServerHello,
I've been taking my laptop to school lately so I don't have to live under the tyranny of Fortres 101 and also get to browse to my liking with Firefox. The problem is, I am not able to access my files that are on the school's server. I need to log in to the server, called HCS. On the school's machines, which all run either Windows 2000 or Windows XP (Professional? maybe?), and I'm running XP Home. On the login screen on their computers, it gives them the option of what server to connect, which is HCS. I need to be able to display this login option on my laptop so it will work. I asked the school computer admin and she gave me the WEP code but isn't really so technically knowledgeable, since she had their internet provider basically set up the whole network. So with the WEP code, I can connect to the network, but not the server where my files are. So internet :) Server :( Brandon On Wed, 21 Dec 2005 21:46:01 -0800, brandon_r87 wrote:

This is called Simple File Sharing. The Guest account is probably not enabled on the server. Sorry, no easy solution. You would need Windows XP Professional, where you can disable Simple File Sharing. Hans-Georg -- No mail, please. Is there some kind of software that would allow me to connect? (Other than
