Mapped drives not connectingThis seems to be a fairly common problem but I haven't seen any solutions. I
have some mapped drives on an XP machines to a windows 2k professional machine and when I boot they show in "my computer" as disconnected so I have to double click and it shows the \\server name\username and asks for password. I enter the password and the drives stayed mapped until I reboot. I saw on another site that there was a problem with the password being saved but its link to the solution on microsoft is gone so I am not sure what the solution is. Any suggestions? Paul start mapping drives and when you are prompted for the username and password,
check the box "remember password" and make sure that another option in the "map network drive" which is "connect on logon" is also checked - hope it helps. i did this on an xp machine connection to windows nt server. reconnect at login which doesn't work. If I select "connect as differenet user" and put in the same username and password that I logged into my machine with then reconnecting works for me so its at least a doable workaround.
