can't connect anymoreHi,
I've been using a Linksys WRT54G with my laptop for a few months with no problems. Yesterday, my laptop could see my router but it wouldn't automatically connect, when I click connect manually it says it is no longer in range. I tried my laptop at work today and it works ok there. When I got home I tried again and it could also see an unsecured Belkin router nearby which I've never seen before. I can connect to it but my Linksys still has the same problem. I've tried changing the channel from 11 to most of the others with no luck. Could the belkin router be interfering with mine or is my router dead (wired connections still work). Any suggestions would be great, Matt. Seems like you're failing to associate to the router. You might try to
streamline your setup a bit: Make sure you have the latest firmware for your router Reset the router to the defaults Don't use a hidden SSID Turn off extra services (including MAC filtering) and all encryption Turn ON basic WEP encryption - don't use "shared" access if it's an option. If you can get connected, ramp up your security and other settings as desired. Sounds like your laptop is okay. Can you connect to your AP with other clients/network cards? It's doubtful the neighboring Belkin is interfering with your AP. -- Show quoteHide quoteStandard Disclaimers - This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights.
