Wireless Internet Connection

I have recently travelled in Europe with my laptop. In most cities I was able
to connect via wireless however in Croatia I had a special problem. My laptop
would find and connect to the wirelss service provider. I paid the required
fee but when I tried to open my browser I always received the message
"Limited or no connectivity". I phoned T-net the service provider to be told
that the fault was in my computer and I needed to download and instal a
patch. Any clues?

Did they mention what exactly is the patch? Sounds to me like a typical case
of bad support anyway.
Morale: always plan for backup connectivity. I usually use Wi-Fi wireless
acess points, or just buy prepaid dialup.
