Creating a wireless network... Adapter not installed

oh-crap
I am attempting to set up a home network, mainly so my son and I can share
files and he can send print jobs to my printer.  We had it set up a few years
ago and it seemed to be fairly simple to set up.  But I have changed some
hardware since and cannot get it to work.  We are using 2 Linksys routers for
him to get his internet connection and that seems to work well.

This is what I have done.  I started the process on my computer just
following the directions.  I put in my jump drive so it will throw the need
info for the other computer but when I put the jump drive into that computer
I get this message….

“The wizard cannot create a wireless network, either because a wireless
adapter is not installed or because software for the adapter is not
installed.”

What is the “adapter” it is referring too?  What should I do?

Hi

Your son probably has a Modem and a Router; you do not need more than one
Router to share an Internet connection and to form a Local Network.

The content of the following links will provide you with a basic tutorial
about Sharing Internet and using Wireless; it is short and to the point:

The three first pages were written ages ago. You might ignore the prices,
and the specific choice of hardware, stick with the principles they are
still the same.

Basic Options for Internet Connection Sharing -

Hubs, routers, switches, DSL, LANs, WANs...? -
