Wireless help please???I have been running my new laptop on a wireless network with my PC for about two months now without problem, but today it says it cannot find a network connection. Nothing has changed with my setup and I have tried rebooting PC and Laptop and even turned off my BT (UK) Router and restarted it but still no network connection can be found. My PC is working find and connects ok through the router, but this is wired and doesn't use a wireless connection I have no idea what to do next to troubleshoot this problem. Can some kind person guide me please? Cheers Graham Hi
In General, you can debug the Network Settings of a computer by following these steps. Step One. Check the Network parameters in the Computer's Device Manager. Make sure that the Network Card drivers are installed correctly; i.e. there is No IRQ conflict, and No Ghost installation. http://www.ezlan.net/faq#ghost Step Two. Verify Basic network setting in the OS: http://www.ezlan.net/Installing#verify. If the above two Steps indicates that every thing looks good but functionally it does not work. Step Three. Check (and repair if necessary) the Socket Layers, Winsock, and or refresh the TCP/IP Stack. http://www.ezlan.net/clean#refreshnet This page includes links to pages that might help with the Wireless per se. http://www.ezlan.net/#Wireless Jack (MVP-Networking).
