Where to look for network?

I have the new Livebox from Orange all set up and installed on my PC. Problem
is under wireless network - create new network I;m asked for a flash drive
to install the wireless setup? Computer is a wireless lap top with wireless
LAN turned on but doesn't automatically find the network? Surely it doesn't
need general wireless stuff installing as I would have thought these would
already be on it? No where on control panel can I find an icon which will
search for available wirelss networks? HELP!!
