Wireless Connectionto do so after 7 days. I am using a Netgear 311v3 PC Network adaptor. My PC states that I am connected with the card and I can also see my ISP Network. The problem is they are not connected in reality or are but not in sync. I cannot access the Internet. The only way I can get on line is via Ethernet cable. I have disabled everything rebooted several times but the problem persists. I have turned off Firewalls but still cannot get on line. It has been suggested that I re load XP but I dont want to do this yet as back up files and data will be lost if I dont ghost everything. Is there any alternatives that I can try without having to re format?. Pinging the IP address and ISP provider changing channels the problem is definetely on my PC. Any help welcomed. Thanks What encryption is on the router? A reset of the router to get back to
basics would be a lot easier. -- Show quoteHide quoteMCP (2K) Net+, A+ Server-Networking MVP "Terry" wrote: > I am trying to connect to Internet wirelessly and to date I still am unable > to do so after 7 days. > > I am using a Netgear 311v3 PC Network adaptor. although once again both the netgear adaptor and Router say they are connected. Will uninstalling Norton anti virus/internet security do anything. I am told that my PC is trying to locate the network both via Netgear and windows. I have unistalled /re installed the adaptor a few times but still no joy. Another other ideas before a re format and re load of XP again.?, which I am trying utmost to avoid. Terry Show quoteHide quote "jmwills" wrote: > What encryption is on the router? Should I unistall the adaptor and software
again and then try to using Windows configuration. Do I need to Load Netgear software? I have tried this last week but prepared to do it again if you think it will resove the issue. Is there any guidance or other things I should check for before reinstalling the adaptor. Terry Show quoteHide quote "jmwills" wrote: > That could very well be the issue. Then install the card and use the CD for the driver
only or just download the driver from the internet and save it to a location you can navigate to becasue it will need that driver to install the card. -- Show quoteHide quoteMCP (2K) Net+, A+ Server-Networking MVP "Terry" wrote: > Jim I think I did this before.
