Hello!
I want to connect 15 PC to our Network. We have a normal LAN but in one part
of our building there is only one cable. So we want to use WLAN for the
connections. 8 of the PC's are near the AP. The other 7 are so fare way,
that they can't reach the AP. We cannot connect a second AP, standing nearer
by the PC's, to LAN. Therefore we tried to use the second AP in bride mode.
It is a Netgear WG102. The signal ist now strong enough, but the two AP's do
not communicate to each other. Can anybody tell me, about the right
configuration.
Thanks
Kurt

Jack (MVP-Networking).
Hi
Wireless range heavily depends on the environment. The same unit can yield a
distance of 20 feet in one place, and 200 feet in an othe location.
These pages describe few methods to Bridge Wireless.
Extending Distance - http://www.ezlan.net/Distance.html
Wireless Bridging - http://www.ezlan.net/bridging
Hi Gain Antenna - http://www.ezlan.net/antennae.html
Jack (MVP-Networking).
However given the business nature of setting you are better of getting a
Wireless professional consultant,
Jack (MVP-Networking).
