I have XP Home Media and my Toshiba has wireless. I also had a home network.
So in the network Connections I have 3 icons.

My computer is hanging on startup (not always, and sometimes it frees itself
after a long wait.

I found in Event Viewer that when this happens I get error 30013, which I
paste below along with the results of doing a ipconfig /all.

Could somebody help?  I think it has to do with DHCP being disabled, but I
don't know where to go and enable it and I wonder if I should just delete
the internet connections, other than the one I need now for cable access.

The DHCP allocator has disabled itself on IP address 213.217.229.58, since
the IP address is outside the 192.168.0.0/255.255.255.0 scope from which
addresses are being allocated to DHCP clients. To enable the DHCP allocator
on this IP address, please change the scope to include the IP address, or
change the IP address to fall within the scope.

Is this a wireless problem?

Anyway, DHCP is running - it says so right under your ethernet adapter. It's
just not running for the other entries.

It seems as though something's not set up properly with NAT. You'll have to
re-configure it either through netsh in the command prompt or through your
network connections. As a last-ditch effort you might need to re-install your
VPN.

If you're running XP SP2 then you might need to look at this:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;885407.

This might get DHCP running your your Tunnel adapters:
Go to Start -> Control Panel -> Network Connections. Right click on your
Local Area Connection and choose Properties. Go to the Advanced tab and check
the box that says Allow other network users to connect through this
computer's Internet connection. Hit OK.

Next you can Right click on the Tunnel adapter network connections and
choose Properties. Go to the Advanced tab. Check the box that says "Allow
other network users to connect through this..." After that you'll select the
drop down box under Home networking connection: and choose Local Area
Connection. Hit OK.

Onece more...

In fact the Adnaced tab only refers to the Firewall.  But the other two
connections do have such a box.  One is the Wireless connection; the other
1394 whch I assume has to do with my earlir home network setup.

Thanks

If your wireless connection is the one that you actively use then you can try
allowing Internet Connection Sharing on it. Then set up your Tunelling
connections Internet Connection Sharing to point to the Wireless Connection.
