re no internet after wep enabledThanks for replies I almost have it sorted. We have 3 laptops and a desktop connected to the network only the desktop is causing problems. The problem appears to be with the default gateway. The things that may be relevant are: on the support tab on the wireless connection status there is no ip address for the gateway, I have tried duplicating whets in the others paces but that didn't work. in the general tab of the same window packets are being sent but not received in my network places the laptops show the wireless router but the desktop doesn't any suggestions appreciated Gary You should check the security settings. It sounds to me like the desktop is
getting rejected by the wireless router. Are you entering the password as a Hex value, or as a password on the desktop? It's possible you'll need to enter it as a Hex value 0 to 9 and a to f. Sometimes how a password is converted is not the same between different brands of wi-fi products. Hopefully the wireless router will give you the hex value for your password. -- Show quoteHide quoteDavid Hettel Please post any reply as a follow-up message in the news group for everyone to see.
