Wireless not startinghave just installed wireless networking which works fine but has to be
started manually every time I turn PC on. I go to services - wireless zero cofig. -and then have to click start. I have to do this every time. I have been told that my wireless adapter may be one that Windows wont recognise and that I may have to configure it to do so.Can you tell me what to do. I am running XP home SP2 Netgear router and Micradigital 802.11g w/less USB adapter So you're saying that the Wireless Zero Configuration service doesn't start
up when the computer starts up? If that's the case then you can try switching it to automatic startup. Get into services, go to Wireless Zero Configuration, double click it to bring up it's properties window and next to where it says "Startup type:" choose Automatic from the list, click Apply, then OK. -Dan Show quoteHide quote "TonyTaylor" <TonyTay***@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:153373BF-9CD2-4F18-848E-C29A7495EA39@microsoft.com... > have just installed wireless networking which works fine but has to be > started manually every time I turn PC on. If you
do then you'll need to disable it from starting up when windows does to be able to automatically start WZC. For example I have an HP laptop, and in order for WZC to work properly on my machine I had to disable the HP Wireless Assistant from starting up when the computer does. -Dan Show quoteHide quote "TonyTaylor" <TonyTay***@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:214A7304-EC05-4E20-9D25-5C6974C86B80@microsoft.com... > > > "LittleMoo" wrote: > >> So you're saying that the Wireless Zero Configuration service doesn't >> start >> up when the computer starts up? >> >> If that's the case then you can try switching it to automatic startup. >> Get >> into services, go to Wireless Zero Configuration, double click it to >> bring >> up it's properties window and next to where it says "Startup type:" >> choose >> Automatic from the list, click Apply, then OK. >> >> -Dan >> >> "TonyTaylor" <TonyTay***@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message >> news:153373BF-9CD2-4F18-848E-C29A7495EA39@microsoft.com... >> > have just installed wireless networking which works fine but has to be >> > started manually every time I turn PC on.
