2 of 3 pc cannot access filescommunicates through a WPA router. All three PC are on XP and all 3 can access the internet with no problem. However: desktop, laptop 1, and laptop 2 can access the web desktop can access both laptops and their files and they can access it back. but: the 2 laptops can see each other but cannot access each other's files! I've checked everything I can think of and cannot find the problem. Both laptops are Toshiba and therefore the installed Toshiba network config utility says the wireless connections (to the router) are fine. I have Zone Alarm free installed but the ip addresses of both laptops are included in each other's trusted zones and when I turn ZA off it makes no difference. Any help? Jeff Are you logged into each computer as a different user? It sounds like a
permissions problem to me. The user of laptop1 must be a member of the users of laptop2 just as the user of laptop2 must be a member of laptop1 users. The simple fact that it works with the desktop says that sharing is setup correctly, and it's a case of not having permissions to access the folders. Where does one set up permissions? I never tinkered with that. The desktop and laptop1 are on XP Home. Laptop2 uses XP MCE.
