Hi All.

At home have a workgroup set up follows

1 Windows 2000 PC connected to router via LAN
2 Windows XP Home PC connected to router via LAN
3 Window XP Pro (from work) Laptop connected to router via Wireless

In each case the Windows Firewall is disabled as I have a third party
product.
Sharing works fine.
I know how to configure the work laptop when used at home and nothing has
changed via delivered polices at work etc.

Changed the XP Home PC to wireless and now I can't access the workgroup from
the XP Pro Laptop!

During investigation I have disabled the firewall on all PC's/Laptop to no
avail.

Any ideas please.

Regards.
Bill.

You might want to take a look at the network troubleshooter by MVP
Hans-Georg Michna. Take the time to go through it and it will usually
pinpoint the problem area(s) -

Also take a look at my new wireless does not work -

Many thanks.
FYI it was a networking problem not specially wireless and it turned out
that the LAN port on the laptop suffered the same problem.
It turned out that the node type had changed to peer to peer. Deleted the
registry entry as per the instructions and it changed to unknown (which is
an acceptable state according to the instructions - the other being Hybrid)
and it started to work.
Don't know what caused the change but that's computers I suppose!!!
Regards.
Bill.
