I need to reformat my hard drive. I am trying to figure out what I will need
to do to get myself back online as soon as possible afterwards. Will the
wireless installation need to be installed  from scratch, or will the web
pages still be available online? Will I need, initially, to reintall my ADSL
modem to setup my email account and online access.

If you reformat your hard drive, you'll go back to a out of box experience
computer, anything you have installed you'll need to reinstall. Don't count
on having Internet access, you'll most likely need to install drivers again.
I suggest you also make a list of all passwords and account names, you'll
need to reenter them.
