conecting my laptop to my home pci have just purchased a wireless laptop but my home pc is not wireless so i
am joining them using LAN but with the lead conected i can't get to any files on the home pc can't even see the other pc home pc runs professional laptop runs home -- Its all a learning curve so its good to share. Secondly, you won't be able to connect the machines together with a regular CAT5 cable - you need a crossover cable. Adding to what Gordon stated, once physically connected together, you also
need to configure the NIC. Without a DHCP server you'll need to do everything yourself.
