Yes, you can network a Win95 computer with computers running other operating systems. I have a Win95 box connected to my network. The easiest way to do this is by using a router connected to your ntl cable modem. However, if your ntl cable modem connects to your current computer by USB, you may have a hard time finding a router that will work with that. Furthermore, even if you can connect a router to your cable modem, it will not be so easy to make a wireless connection to the Win95 box. The more straightforward and technically simplest way to network the Win95 box is by connecting a physical Ethernet cable. This, of course, requires that you run the cable from wherever your current computer/cable mode is located to your daughter's bedroom. This may pose problems unless you are a carpenter, electrician, or are comfortable with drilling holes in your walls and fishing cable through (or willing to pay someone to do it). Stringing cable is easier if both rooms have an attic immediately above or a cellar immediately below. The alternative to cabling is wireless. However, as far as I know, there are no wireless adapters that will work with Win95. You can get around this limitation by using a wireless bridge that would connect to the Win95 box by Ethernet. If the Win95 computer could possibly be upgraded to Win98se, you could get a PCI wireless adapter, such as the Linksys WMP54G (min reqs: 500 MHz cpu; 128 MB RAM; CDROM; Win98se). This, combined with a wireless router connected to your cable modem, would probably be the easiest solution. -- Lem MS MVP -- Networking To the moon and back with 64 Kbits of RAM and 512 Kbits of ROM. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apollo_Guidance_Computer
