Setting up a wireless networkI recently had to reinstall Windows XP Home on my laptop, and am now trying
to get my wireless internet access up and running again. Previous to reformatting, I had my Netgear router attached to my cable modem, and also directly to my iMac. I had no problem receiving a signal on my Windows laptop, however now I don't appear to have a 'Wireless Network Connection' icon in my Network Connections folder, and I have no idea how to search for available wireless networks without this. Since I reinstalled Windows XP on my machine, I have upgraded it to service pack 2, which has provided me with a 'Wireless Network Setup Wizard', but I've tried using it and can't seem to figure it out. I don't remember using anything like this before, but it was a long while ago that I initially set up my wireless internet access, and I can't remember exactly what I did. If anyone can help me, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks, Stephen Hi
If you do not have a Connection Icon for the Wireless, it usually means that Windows is not detecting the Wireless Card. You probably have to obtain the original Brand drivers of the Wireless Card, and reinstall them. http://www.ezlan.net/debug.html Jack (MVP-Networking).
