Can not get an IP addresssignal strength, but will not comminucate with the router. I can not seem to get it to assign an IP address. Everything worked until I tried to install a Bluetooth card, but now it does not. I have since removed the bluetooth card and restored the system state prior to the installation. I have done all of the usual stuff: update drivers / reinstall old drivers that worked before, reset all of the settings, reset the Linksys Wireless router used the winsock fix used the LSP fix Used the netsh fix and reset/renewed the IPconfig many times I even physically removed the wireless card, removed all of the software, cleaned the registry and reinstalled everything all with the same results - the radio works, finds the router, connects, but will not assign a IP address. The router works fine with the cable. I have a IBM Thinkpad T30, Intel/IBM - internal wireless card, Windows XP Pro, Linksys WRT54G-v6 router How do I get the router to assign an IP? I have disabled all of the security on both the router and the laptop. I have used the default settings, as well as opening up everything I could find and trying again. At this point I am baffled as to why it is not working. something with the conflicting drivers, but I am not sure how to sort out which is correct. As it sits now I have the Thinkpad - Think Vantage Wireless Access package installed, with only the Wireless card driver (not the Intel wireless card software package). I have had several versions of the ThinkVantage Wireless Access package installed, but all with the same results. I have also installed the complete Intel wireless card software package (with ThinkVantage unistalled) and tried that way. If there is a conflict, it may be from something left over from the uninstalls, but I can not find it. Any ideas?
