I have set up a wireless network, I want to add my sons PC to this network, I
bought a wireless network adapter consistent with my modem router, however my
son only has windows 98 and the network adapter needs win 98 SE or above is
there anything I can do to make it work without buying windows again?

Yes, buy a different wireless adapter. I have a Netgear WG111v2 and it
works fine with a computer running Win 98SE.... connecting to my
Linksys WRT54G router.

Jack (MVP-Networking).
Hi
If the Laptop CPU is over 400MHz and the memory is at least 256MB, you are
better of upgrading to Win XP home. There are legitimate sales/rebates as
low as $35.
Otherwise, with less robust hardware, upgrade to Windows2000.
In the long run you son would have more secure better computer, for little
money.

Thank-you for your response I kind of thought that might be the case. I got
the setup disc loaded and detecting the network but it seemed to be all to
much for the system which said it was missing some files and performing fatal
exceptions doh! thanks again.
