Hello.  I wnat to access my own wireless network using my daughter's new
laptop, but I don't know my own network key.  I actually don't think I would
mind changing my network to unsecure so that my sister can also access our
signal when she visits with her laptop.  How do I identify my network key, or
how do I change to unsecured?

How you do this is product specific.  If you do not have a manual for your
router, you can probably download one from the manufacturer's web site.
Generally you access your router settings by:  http://<IPaddressofRouter>.
However, you will probably need to know the administrative user name and
password - see your manual.

You will find this in the security setup page for your wireless router.
Without knowing your wireless router model number we can not tell you
exactly where it is. Generally this page can be reach by pointing Internet
Explorer to your Default Gateway IP address.

If using a router - access the router setup utility -usually via
191.168.1.1.

Jack (MVP-Networking).
Hi
A combined reading of your Router  manual's security chapter, and this page
might help to resolve the problem,

NEVER EVER change it to an unsecured network. Other than troubleshooting
there is never a reason to do that...

An easy way to keep your network secured and have the ability to allow guest
access is to use Windows Connect Now (WCN) and save off wireless network
information on a flash drive. Then guests can simply use the flash drive to
configure their laptop for your network...

General security guidelines including WCN information...

As noted by the others check your routers users manual for specific help...
