More info would be helpful. What os are you using? Are you using windows to
configure your wireless card, or a control program that came with the card?
Have you deleted the connection, and tried recreating it?

I just reloaded Windows XP on my Dell laptop.  The device manager shows
everything OK but when my Intel Pro Wireless card loads up and I try to click
on a wireless network the mouse pointer goes "under" the box on the screen.
When I do try to fix it I am told that a WMI file might be corrupted and to
do a system restore.  The problem is, I don't have a restore point as I just
reloaded it.  I am using windows to configure it.

WMI Windows Management Instrumentation could be related to a number of
things, it sounds as if you don't have all the default drivers loaded, what
are you trying to reload from? Have you installed the Dell drivers for your
Intel Pro Wireless card?

Sounds like you need to set up a new wireless connection. You should then
get the option to input the WEP key (or whatever security you used).

So,  you enabled one of the many forms of encryption on the router.  Did you
also insure that the laptop is using the same type of encryption with the
same key?

Hi

The scant information that you provide might indicate that your Wireless is
incorrectly set.

There is not enough info to pinpoint the problem.

The following pages includes information about Wireless setting might be
